WebsiteBuilders ("we", "us") is operated by Almacorp Pty Ltd, Australia. This policy explains what we collect when you use thewebsitebuilders.co, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles and, where they apply to you, the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Quiz and order details. Your name, business name, email, mobile number (optional), industry, your current website or social links (optional), and your answers about goals, style and features. We save each answer as you go, so an unfinished quiz is kept too.
- Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares your name, email, the last four digits of your card and the payment status with us.
- Contact messages. Anything you send us by email or through a form on the site.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, buttons clicked, the link or post that brought you here, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, and session recordings that show how the page was used (typed text in form fields is masked).
Why we use it
- To design, build, host and maintain your website and to send you the first draft and later updates.
- To take payment and manage your monthly plan.
- To follow up if you start a quiz or a checkout and do not finish it.
- To understand how visitors use the site and to measure and improve our marketing, including advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and TikTok.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
Cookies and tracking
We use first-party cookies to remember your quiz progress and the link you arrived from, and third-party tools that set their own cookies or identifiers:
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Meta Platforms): page views, quiz completion and purchases, so we can measure ads and show relevant ads. Meta receives a hashed version of your email when you complete the quiz.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads (Google): visits, traffic sources and conversions.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): heatmaps and session recordings with form input masked.
- Stripe: fraud prevention during checkout.
You can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop the site or the quiz from working. You can opt out of interest-based ads through your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who need it to run the service: Vercel (hosting and data storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Meta, Google and Microsoft (analytics and advertising as above). Some of these providers store data in the United States. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Quiz records for people who never order are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Customer records are kept for the life of the plan and for 7 years after for tax purposes. Session recordings are kept by Clarity for 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to marketing at any time by emailing hello@thewebsitebuilders.co. We reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
